Another period review, another checkpoint.
For a long time, I didn’t quite understand the meaning of checkpoint, is it just for review? Is it just for self retrospection? Or is it helping me to look into the future? To prepare for the next phase? Or it’s just for me to feel satisfied, as I can have another checklist, to check off things?
Not really. Checkpoint for me, is a way to meditate, it’s a way to think about what’s right, what’s not right. And this period of time, during the checkpoint, I am 100% to myself.
This blog, or article is not for anyone to read, honestly, I will not read this again. It’s not for read, and the only thing I can take away from this article is the to do list for the next phase, for which I already have a weekly review, and therefore, I don’t really see a value to put it here.
That said, why I keep doing this? It’s for me to know myself better, to see what habits can be kept, and what can be avoided – now I know, to avoid a habit takes time.
Things can be hard to start, but once started, it’s hard to stop.
You don’t rise to the level of your goals, you fall down to the level of your system — James Clear.
For this period, I think the most important thing is “If I don’t understand, ChatGPT it, until you understand”.
This action itself is so simple, but it changed me a lot. And by keeping notes on the side, and asking ChatGPT to review my summaries, it helped me to solidify the knowledge point. Especially when I tried to connect dots with other aspects in the same domain, or some similar concepts. Conquer each pain point, and if I don’t feel comfortable, I just write it down – fully leverage the notes and todoist system. After each day, I will just review the notes I take for the day, using “recall” technique to check how much I remember, this will also help to deepen my memories.
Time flies, I have been staying in the same spot for almost 12 years, I would like to think I need to move to another place, change something in life, to spark my brain.
Maybe not too much. Gradually, changing the work / living environment would help me to get out of a rut.
It’s almost Thanksgiving again now, I still remember what happened last year, and the year before, and the year before that… Things need to change.
I started a github repository to work on a project to draw a QR code with SQL, I know this cannot be finished in one day, I will add stuff to the repository every day, and see where it gets me to.
So, 日拱一卒, 功不唐捐.
